Other than the luxurious amenities of The Elms at Clarksburg Village, one of the best things about living in this apartment community is its location in Upper Montgomery County. Many exciting attractions are close by including the Sugarloaf Mountain Vineyard, located just a 15-minute drive away in Dickerson, Maryland.
About Sugarloaf Mountain Vineyard
Since 2006, Sugarloaf Mountain Vineyard has offered award-winning vintages that reflect their incredible passion for the art of winemaking. French vinifera clones cover 22 acres of the vineyard. The five white and five red varieties of grapes grown here are hand-picked, cold-soaked, cold-fermented, and aged in either stainless steel or French oak barrels.
Wine Tasting, Snacks, and Events
The tasting room is available daily from 12 pm to 5:30 pm and costs $10 per person. When you arrive, the well-trained staff will guide you through a fun tasting of award-winning wines. Weekday tastings are held indoors, but on weekends, you can enjoy your glass with fantastic views outside. During winter, weekend tastings will be around a warm fire pit, weather permitting. All outdoor spaces are dog-friendly, which means you can bring your furry friends. There is limited seating on weekends, so if you plan to arrive after 1 pm, bring a blanket or lawn chair.
After your tasting, stay and appreciate the relaxing atmosphere at Sugarloaf Mountain Vineyard. If you’re hungry, order from the a la carte menu, which includes meats, cheeses, and other snacks. You can also bring a small picnic basket with snacks to enjoy with wine purchased from the vineyard. Additionally, there are concerts on weekends from April through October that are free for guests.
